Self Assessment product fee
The £29 Self Assessment fee unlocks return pack and preparation workspace access for one tax year.
Cooling-off and digital access
UK distance-selling rules can give consumers cancellation rights, but digital access and downloads need clear consent and acknowledgement before immediate access starts. TaxLi should keep that acknowledgement in checkout before live payments.
Refunds before access is used
A refund can normally be considered if you paid by mistake and have not used the paid return pack access, downloaded the pack, or requested paid support connected to that access.
After pack access or download
Once paid access has been used or a return pack has been generated/downloaded, refunds should be reviewed case by case, especially where the service was unavailable or the charge was duplicated.
Accountant support
Accountant Checked and Done For You support may have separate pricing, scope, cancellation and refund terms once live payments are enabled for those services.
How to request a refund
Contact billing@taxli.co.uk with your account email, tax year, payment reference if available, and a short explanation. We will review the request and confirm next steps.
Duplicate charges and service errors
Duplicate charges, failed unlocks, failed downloads or extended service outages should be reviewed promptly and may be refunded or corrected after support checks the payment and entitlement records.
How TaxLi reviews a refund request
Support will check the payment record, entitlement status, download history where available, support ticket history, and whether the issue was caused by a TaxLi service problem. We may ask for extra details before confirming the outcome.
Failed unlock or failed download
If payment succeeds but your return pack does not unlock or download, raise a support ticket from the signed-in account first. TaxLi should try to correct the entitlement or regenerate the pack before treating the issue as a refund request.
Direct HMRC submission — payment and refund cases
Once direct HMRC submission is switched on for your account, these cases apply in addition to the ones above: if payment was taken and your return is then found ineligible for direct filing before anything was sent to HMRC, that payment is refunded. If TaxLi fails to complete a filing attempt because of a technical problem on our side before HMRC received it, we will refund or retry depending on what the evidence shows. If HMRC rejects a return because of information you entered, that is not usually grounds for an automatic refund, but we will still help you fix it and refile. If a rejection looks like it was caused by an error in how TaxLi built or mapped your return, we will investigate and refund if TaxLi was at fault. Duplicate payments are always refunded once confirmed in our payment records.
About this policy
This refund policy is written and maintained by TaxLi's operator to reflect the current product and payment setup, and is reviewed before real payment processing goes live and again before direct HMRC submission is switched on.
Real payment processing isn't switched on yet.
