Terms of service

Who these terms are for
These terms cover use of the TaxLi web app by UK Self Assessment users preparing their own return or requesting optional review support.
Business details
TaxLi provides the TaxLi product. Operated by Fahad Khan as a sole trader (not registered as a limited company). Registered address: 43 Brightside Road, Manchester, Lancashire, M8 5XJ. Not VAT registered.
Service scope
TaxLi provides Self Assessment preparation tools, draft estimates, validation prompts, return pack downloads, optional accountant review request workflows, and — once switched on for your account — direct submission to HMRC.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for checking that the information you enter is complete and accurate, keeping supporting records, and filing your return with HMRC unless you separately appoint a qualified accountant or use another filing method.
Draft estimates
Tax estimates are draft calculations based on information entered into TaxLi. They are not HMRC calculations, tax advice, or proof of the amount HMRC will assess.
Accountant review
Accountant Checked and Done For You requests are separate support workflows. A request does not automatically submit your return or guarantee that an accountant has accepted an engagement.
Payment and access
The product fee unlocks return pack and preparation workspace access for the selected tax year. The checkout page should show the price, tax year and payment obligation before payment. Stripe processes card payment details.
Digital access and cancellation
If you ask TaxLi to unlock paid digital access immediately after payment, your refund rights may be affected once access has been used or a return pack has been generated/downloaded. See the Refund policy before paying.
Acceptable use
You must not use TaxLi to submit false information, access another person's data without authority, interfere with the service, or upload harmful files.
Direct HMRC submission — supported scope only
Where direct HMRC submission is switched on for your account, TaxLi can only submit returns that fall within its published supported scope. Returns outside that scope are blocked from direct submission and TaxLi will show you fallback options (export, accountant review, or filing directly with HMRC) instead.
Direct HMRC submission — no guarantee of acceptance
TaxLi's own checks passing does not guarantee HMRC will accept a submitted return. HMRC applies its own validation and can reject a return TaxLi considered ready to send. TaxLi does not guarantee HMRC acceptance, any particular repayment or tax liability amount, that a filing deadline will be met, or that penalties will be avoided.
Direct HMRC submission — TaxLi may pause filing
TaxLi may pause or block direct submission for your return if evidence, eligibility, payment, fraud-prevention, or operational requirements are not complete, even after you have started the process. This is a safety check, not a guarantee that submission will otherwise succeed.
Duplicate submissions and amendments
Do not attempt to submit the same return more than once, or file it elsewhere, while a TaxLi submission is pending or its outcome is unclear — contact support first. Amending an already-submitted return is not currently supported through TaxLi unless stated otherwise at the time.
Support
For account or workflow questions, contact support@taxli.co.uk. For billing and refund questions, contact billing@taxli.co.uk.
About these terms
These terms are written and maintained by TaxLi's operator to reflect the current product. They are reviewed as the product changes, including before new features such as direct HMRC submission are switched on. If anything here is unclear, contact us before relying on TaxLi for a filing decision.
